Anchor Blue closing all (117) stores
Source: Sacramento Business Journal

... Anchor Blue, which began as Miller’s Outpost in 1972, is calling it quits. The specialty retailer of casual apparel and accessories for teens and young adults began its going-out-of-business sale last Friday at its 117 stores, and will continue until it has sold all its merchandise, a news release said.

Gordon Brothers Group and Hilco Merchant Resources are running the going-out-of-business sales on Anchor Blue’s behalf.

1. I used to like Miller's Outpost
never knew that they had turned into Anchor Blue. Maybe they should've let people know that they were once Miller's Outpost that might have helped them stay in business.

6. They dropped competing clothing lines, and wanted to primarily sell their own.
"Anchor Blue" was the jean brand they sold as competition to Levi's (etc.), and once they dropped the variety, sales dropped.

7. i know the economy isn't so great, but i think many of these companies made it worse
by making those business decisions like not selling other brands. i never shopped there when it became anchor blue only.

5. It says it began the out of business sale... and the sale will probably be heading
to the rest of the stores soon
