Bank of America Is the Next Target of a WikiLeaks Megaleak
Source: CNBC

Bank of America is the target of the next "megaleak" from WikiLeaks, according to a person who has close contact with top people at Wikileaks.

Speculation has swirled around for months about which bank might be the target of WikiLeaks. Back in November, Andy Greenberg of Forbes magazine interviewed Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. He was told that Wikileaks had tens of thousands of documents from a big US bank that it would release early this year. Assange refused to identify the bank.

Despite Assange's refusal to name the bank, the consensus has long held that Bank of America is the target. The initial guessing was supported by an interview Assange gave a year earlier, where he mentioned having a hard-drive that once belonged to a Bank of America executive.

Our source has confirmed that Bank of America is indeed the target of the next big leak. The source couldn't elaborate on the materials held by Assange.

4. Maybe we'll start to see evidence
Of how governments around the world are now at the mercy of these enormous criminal networks aka investment banks. I've heard them described as leeches which are killing their hosts, but I think we'll see that there's a more than mere accident which has brought down countries like Greece and Ireland.

7.  "at their mercy" is the wrong phrase, "willing lapdogs" is more like it.

9. A mix of both
But to the degree the government represents the will of the people, then you must see that the people are living and dying at the mercy of these thugs.

14. So, let me ask you all, what will happen? My answer: nothing.
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 10:15 AM by Javaman
So far we have had only 1% of the actual wikileaks released and of all the "controversy" that has erupted over them, what has happened? Who resigned? Who got fired? What fundamental change happened? The only thing that happen is: We are now suspicious of the government that much more. And that does what? LOL

Wikileaks will release these docs and nothing will happen.

there will be all sorts of apologists from the right and banking community, feigned indignation full on display by our government/banking industry, miles and miles of footage of media talking heads talking about the "impact" of the release, sunday news talk shows having special guests who are "experts" on the leaks, spouting off one euphemism after another, headlines will proclaim investigations, the bank will do an "internal" investigation, a few token lower management easy to fire types will be paraded out as the banks example of "time to take responsibility", etc etc etc.

in other words more piled on top of the already mountainous pile of bullshit.

folks, just walk away, you are only going to be disappointed.

If you haven't already realized, I will clue you in on something, the media and the political pundits are using wikileaks as their best tool now. It's the perfect smoke screen to keep us fighting in useless wars and to keep draining our pockets while we are completely distracted.

We keep looking at the shiny object thinking it will turn into tinkerbell, while those in power keep dangling the leaks in our face knowing we are hypnotized.

So until some glorified rich ceo/politician asshole goes away to prison for life, it's just more business as usual.

Remember folks, part and parcel of the government and the corporations is to control, dissuade, detract and manipulate any and all messages. Regardless of their source.

15. WikiLeaks == God's wish

Otherwise it's simply impossible for human to accomplish such impossible acts that expose the evilness and corruption committed by governments and big businesses.

Odds are in a world of 7 Billion people it was bound to happen. No other-worldy mysticism needs to be attributed to it :hi:

16. Hope this has to do with the meltdown and their foreclosures
Be good to see internal BoA documents and emails that exposes what they really knew about the derivatives they were trading, and also how much and when they knew about the problems/illegalities associated with the paperwork in their seizure and sale of foreclosed homes. That could really screw them up, and maybe others too, in litigation that is already ongoing.
