1. I thought it broke 600 at the end of the month
Lunaville has it at 605. Far to many for a BS war that didn't need to be fought.

3. Geez, Why The Focus On The Negatives
Why, oh why, can't the librul media focus on the progress being made in eye-rack, like all the schools which were supposed to be opened anyways that are now up and running, and, uh, the fact that the oil is now subsidizing Haliburton at a normal pace, and, and. . .

4. Medical evacuations in Iraq war hit 18,000
Edited on Sun Apr-04-04 09:31 AM by jmcgowanjm
The new data, through March 13, is nearly two-thirds
higher than the 11,200 evacuations through Feb. 5 cited
just last month to Congress by the same official,
William Winkenwerder Jr., assistant secretary of defense
for health affairs.

About 20% of the injured in Iraq have suffered severe
brain injuries, and as many as 70% "had the potential
for resulting in brain injury," according to an Oct. 16
article in The Boston Globe

To me, the difference between serious brain
injury and death would be trivial.

See Spalding Grey for details.

5. Yes, let's not forget those who survived
While the deaths are horrible, there will be tens of thousands of survivors whose lives will be much worse due to missing limbs or brain damage or lingering disease or PTSD or many of the other horrors of war.

6. Still no answers
There still isn't an accurate accounting of American wounded or Iraqi casualties. Even liberals usually can't name a single name of one person killed in Iraq.

In our community (outside of Ft. Bragg) it's pretty difficult to treat these men and women as numbers that merely prove a point that the war is wrong (hey, the higher the number, the more it proves we're right). It's a whole weird scenario where the local paper supports the war on the editorial page but runs front page obituaries of the steady stream of those killed.

Here is a story from today's paper
