Newspaper: Ohio received $4.3 billion in defense contracts last year
April 04, 2004 7:52 AM

A newspaper review finds that prime defense contract awards to Ohio companies climbed more than 20 percent in fiscal year 2003.

That bumps the state from 15th to 12th among the 50 states.

But the Dayton Daily News reports that not all of the four-point-three billion dollars stayed in Ohio. The amount also did not account for work that Ohio subcontractors did for prime contractors in other states.

The 20-point-37 percent increase was the biggest percent jump in ten years of statistics.

3. I guess the bomb makers are getting more "productivity" from their workers
Cause they sure didn't create a bunch of new jobs with their war machines.

5. War...good for bidness! This time around though, doesn't seem to be
working since the jobs have been outsourced. Methinks the miltary-industrial complex may have shot themselves in the foot, public-opinion wise, for what that's worth.

6. Growth industry
The only industry that has grown in the last three years is the military. Sadly, it is being financed on credit. Can't last. Besides, it is not a productive industry; it is a destructive industry.
