Attorney: Judge Rules Against IBM in Pension Case
Thursday July 31, 5:26 pm ET

NEW YORK -- A federal judge ruled International Business Machine Corp.'s pension system shortchanges its older employees, said a plaintiffs attorney.

Doug Sprong, a benefits lawyer in Belleville, Ill., who represented the plaintiffs, said Judge G. Patrick Murphy's ruling "unequivocally held that the cash-balance formula currently used by IBM to calculate pension benefits unlawfully discriminates against older workers."

that other companies were watching to see if they could get away with it too!

We'll be seeing more of this kind of scam from companies but this might either slow them down or force them to reconfigure them so that they don't disadvantage older workers.e
