British Secret Service Helped Fight Communism in Brazil, Says New Book
2010 - September 2010
Written by Newsroom
Wednesday, 22 September 2010 19:50

There are some revelations on Brazil's communism in the most detailed and authoritative history of the first 40 years (1909-1949) of the British Secret Intelligence Service, MI6, which was released this week by the London publishers, Bloomsbury and in the USA by Penguin.

Among the fascinating exploits of SIS revealed in the book are the role the Service performed in the US, during both World Wars, in persuading the Americans to support the British war effort.

There are also insights into how SIS helped prevent a Communist revolution in Brazil in 1935, how, during the Second World War, SIS supervised the work of the code-breakers of Bletchley Park, the role of the SIS in North Africa, the build-up to D-Day, and the Service's role in tracking the development of German V-weapons.

The work also reveals that Her Majesty's spies experimented with semen to write secret messages. They found out that sperm could be used as invisible ink because it shines under ultraviolet light and doesn't react to chemical substances used for detection.

1. Hooray! MI-6 "saved" us
We wouldn't want anything but nice, sweet, honorable Capitalism in South and Central America... After all, it's done sooooo well for the citizens of that region so far.

6. Sorry - just wanted to use 'seminal' in a sentence.
Referring to their semen-ink research, of course.

4. British Intelligence is still tying to show it is not communist controlled?

The MI-5 and MI-6 were involved in a major spy Scandal in the 1950s and the CIA viewed both as hopelessly infiltrated by the Soviet KGB (If not run by the KGB).

Military Intelligence Group 5 (MI5) is aimed at domestic counter intelligence, MI6 on the other hand is to gather intelligence over seas (i.e. MI5 is like the FBI but without the FBI's non intelligence duties, MI6 is like the CIA).

Kim Philby was the MI-6 spy (defected to Russia in the early 1950s):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Philby

As was Donald McLean:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Maclean_%28spy%29

Guy Burgess, Anthony Blunt and John Cairncross (Cairncross was the only one NOT to defect to the USSR)were MI5:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Blunt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Burgess
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cairncross

Together all of them were known as the Cambridge Five:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridge_Five

If you read their biographies you will see these are NOT low level spies, but high level spies, access to almost anything in the Government list of secrets, it is like the assistant to the Head of the CIA was a Russian Spy (and maybe assistants to the head of the CIA AND the FBI). This for decades afterward the CIA did NOT trust MI5 or MI6 (Hoover and the FBI NEVER trusted them in the first place, but not on the grounds they were Soviet spies but that in the eyes of Hoover worse, they had strong connections with the financial groups of the City of London, who in turn had strong connections with Wall Street, Hoover never trusted the City of London OR Wall Street among other groups he disliked).

Just a comment that this may be the latest attempt to show MI5 and MI6 are NOT run by the Communists (or not run by the Communists after 1951).
