Michigan's continuing high unemployment rate, which stands at 13.1 percent, is pushing more unemployed job seekers to rely on government assistance programs to maintain household stability factors.

The state Department of Human Services (DHS) is experiencing an increase in cash assistance caseloads. Michigan League for Human Services' Economic Security Bulletin quarterly publication for September 2010 reports, that the states' caseloads were up 10.6 percent during the second half of 2010, compared with a year ago.

The report cites that 64 counties increased their Family Independence Program (FIP) cash assistance caseloads. 1. There are a lot of business who could help instead of
sitting on all that damn money they stole from the taxpayers. It is a shame that we can't come up with some sort of new energy and manufacture items that would put people to work. And if we ever could, we should not let any of the dirty common republican corporate types get any where near them. I think regardless of what the so call free trade countries say, if the US would put a tax or tariff on all the good coming in to this country from companies that took the jobs overseas we would soon see it stop. And by the way, I will bet all those companies who are selling their goods to this country are not buying any of ours. So what difference would it make if we taxed them. We couldn't do worst because they don't buy our stuff anyway, and if the put a tax on it, so what.
