ANKARA (Reuters) - Iraqi political leader Ahmad Chalabi said on Wednesday Washington should not send more troops to the Arab state to fight increasingly violent attacks but must instead swiftly arm and train a police force.

U.S. soldiers have come under attack almost every day since ousting former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) in April. Twenty nine U.S. soldiers have been killed by hostile fire since major combat was declared over on May 1.

The U.S. administration there also faces rising sabotage and a growing sense that the resistance is organized.

Chalibi is a blowhard. He's the one Rummy relied on, telling Rummy the Iraqis would be dancing in the streets upon the troops' arrival. Now Chalibi is giving press conferences saying he knows exactly where Saddam is. It's well known he's a fugutive from Jordanian justice. He and Rummy are birds of a feather, with feathers for brains.
