Analysts See $1.3 Trillion Deficit
Source: Associated Press

Filed at 4:48 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- This year's federal deficit will surpass $1.3 trillion, a slight improvement over last year's record red ink, Congress' top budget analysts said Thursday.

It gave no comfort to lawmakers struggling to balance conflicting election-season pressures to cut budget gaps, jolt the economy and reduce taxes.

With polls showing voters unhappy with growing deficits, the issue will confront legislators when they return from their summer recess in September, less than two months from elections that will determine which party controls Congress.

6. Legalize Marijuana to fill budget hole
They need to end the 'drug war' and legalize marijuanna. Tax it heavily and there would be no budget deficit. Plus imagine all the jobs it would create.

Enforcement, taxation, surveillance....put the Mexicans carrying bails of marijuana across the Rio Grande out of work...and Americans back to work.
