Iowa GOP condemns candidate's anti-gay comments
Source: Des Moines Register

A Republican Party official on Tuesday criticized anti-gay comments made by a Republican who is running for the Iowa House.

Candidate Jeremy Walters of Des Moines wrote on his Facebook page that the Bible says gays should be killed, and that he believes AIDS was designed by God to kill them.

Walters wrote: "The Holy Bible say if your 'GAY' homosexual they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. This tells me alot so should we kill them NO. They Need to ask God to forgive them of their sins and mean it turn away from it. They also need to know that when it says that their blood shall be upon them that tells me it is AIDS. Thats how I feel."

... A party spokeswoman said Walters had planned to volunteer at the party's State Fair booth but will not be allowed to do so.

1. Bible also says "anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death"
Same with women who are not virgins on their wedding night, etc. etc.

What an idiot.

10. By any chance, can you say in which book and chapter it says either of those things?

15. Sure:
Exodus 31:12-15
"The Lord then gave these instructions to Moses: “Tell the people of Israel: ‘Be careful to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you from generation to generation. It is given so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy. You must keep the Sabbath day, for it is a holy day for you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the Lord. Anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death."

Deuteronomy 22:20-21
“But suppose the man’s accusations are true, and he can show that she was not a virgin. The woman must be taken to the door of her father’s home, and there the men of the town must stone her to death"

2. A candidate for the state House
and he can barely construct a coherent sentence. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Good for the Iowa GOP for denouncing this guy's statements.

3. Bible also says if you wear a polyester/cotton blend you die!
The Bible says that if you wear mixed fibers, you are to be put to death.

I assume this stupid Iowa hack never wears a poly/cotton blend shirt, because
if so, he would know how evil he is and that he must die.

9. The Bible does not mention polyester (or any other synthethic fabric).
It does mention wool and linen blends.

14. I thought it was "mixed fibers"...
...or some such language.

I didn't know that wool and linen were specifically mentioned.

Obviously I knew that the Bible didn't specifically mention polyester, because it didn't exist.

Can you just imagine the chafing that would happen to those apostles out in the hot desert? Holy cow!

That is written strangely. "Your" ? Not "You are" ? and..'GAY' homosexual ~redundant perhaps? (Tea baggers were never too bright..) In the mean time, some one should ask him when was the last time he has had shellfish. Lobster dinner? Shrimp? Crab? Pretty sure those were consider "an abomination", as well. Sounds like cherry picking to me.

11. Obviously, the Bible never used the word "gay" or the word "homosexual."

Some modern "translations" might, but I stay away from them because I suspect they are agenda-driven. I realize all versions of the Bible were agenda driven to one degree or another. I guess I'd just rather stick with the agenda of King James than the agenda of some televangelist.

5. Then why has God used AIDS to kill far more straights than gays in this world?
In particular, what does God have against Africa?

the use of condoms and other aids to prevent diseases and pregnancies?

13. Got to hand it to that Republican Party official. She or he must be
someone who actually went to a real school, not a "home school".

16. But does the state GOP still endorse that candidate?
If so, the "condemnation" is of little importance.
