North Bergen hate blogger Hal Turner testifies a second day at trial on charges of threatening federal judges and jury may get case today

BROOKLYN - Jury deliberations are expected to begin today in the trial of North Bergen blogger and shock jock Hal Turner after two previous trials on charges that his June 2009 postings were an incitement to kill federal judges ended in hung juries.

At the end of testimony yesterday, prosecutors said they would present one more witness in their rebuttal case this morning before moving on to closing arguments.

Turner took the witness stand for a second day yesterday and under questioning by his attorney, Peter Kircheimer, worked to convince jurors his comments were merely political hyperbole and opinion and in no way a call for violence against the judges.

Turner testified the FBI approached him in 2003 and persuaded him to be a paid informant on domestic terrorism issues because his rabid commentaries made him a magnet for hate groups such as the Aryan Nation, Ku Klux Klan and Nazis.
