Rice Rejects Public Testimony to 9/11 Panel
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=4680155§ion=news

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The head of the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks urged Condoleezza Rice on Sunday to testify before it in public but the White House national security adviser repeated her refusal to do so.

Rice has refused to appear before the independent panel in public and under oath to answer charges from former White House counterterrorism official Richard Clarke that the Bush administration neglected the threat from al Qaeda. The White House has asked for a second private session for Rice.

The commission's Republican chairman, former New Jersey Gov. Tom Kean, told "Fox News Sunday" his panel would continue to press for Rice to appear publicly but would not try to force her to do so under a court order.

"To get into a court battle over a subpoena we don't think is really appropriate right now, nor will it help us," Kean said.

In public under oath and if not, shut the f*** up and get off the rightwing talkshows, bitch.

1. Condi won't be forced to, but Clinton had to testify
about his dick. Yeah, understandable - peopel only died, the world became unstable and continues to be so, but dammit, the Monica thing was about S-E-X!

2. testimony, oaths and court orders are totally unnecessary
after all, 9/11 didn't involve a blow-job :eyes:

these people make me ill :puke:

the good news, such as it is, is that the Fox News crowd is hearing about this. My dad is hearing about this, and was to goddamn wonder why she won't testify...

I can hope, anyway

and filmed in - the one where Starr made a fool of himself along with Bosse and the others. Let Scalia come over and swear her in.

4. Give her more rope
She's hanging herself. Josh Marshall really nailed her this week, too, some great reading. Condi has been given her marching orders, and she's doin' a whack job...on herself. Every time she opens her mouth, another tiny shred of credibility shatters and tumbles like broken glass. Buh-bye Condi. Door hit'cha, dog bit'cha.

5. this is a very good sign...
what it means is that they DO have a lot to hide.

that they ARE afraid of the truth coming out.

The fact that Kean and other republicans on the committee have called for her to testify publicly means they may actually have believed that Bush had nothing to hide. This should give them some doubts.

Maybe they'll start to bail out...

6. the panel has said they want her to testify publically but
has also said they will not subpoena her.

So? of course she is not going to appear publically. Nothing to lose by refusing to do so now.

She will not be subpoenaed--why should she worry now?

This panel is a joke.

7. This panel is a joke," is the only thing I heard that's good today.
Thomas Kean, yeah right, tells FAUX News, yeah right -

I think the Condi interview was pulled off the air tonight on 60 minutes. A five minute interview and then that's it? Give me a fucking break!
