Univision issues major correction on Jerry Brown and "plane" story
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Remember how Team Whitman and other media were all over our post from more than a week ago about Jerry Brown's interview on Univision's LA station, Univision KMEX 34 Los Angeles.

The way that Univision paraphrased -- in Spanish -- Brown's English remarks, it translated to the Democratic guv candidate saying to "begin with I would cut back the governor's expenses, like the private jet, mansion, and things considered luxuries."

The other day, we told you that the Brown campaign had obtained the unedited, raw video from the interview -- and Univision's translation did not match the Democratic gubernatorial candidate's remarks.

Now, not only has Univision issued a correction on the story, it has -- in a somewhat unusual move -- aired a large chunk of the unaired Brown interview in English (with Spanish subtitles.)

1. Wishing Fixed Noise network would do the same after they
wrongly paraphrase and outright LIE about what a Democratic Party member represents.

I won't hold my breath waiting.

2. I disagree with Brown on one thing ...
"I make that commitment, I have the knowledge, I have the skill and I will push that legislature and then to the extent that they're frozen that they're, they just can't get together. I will go to the people and seek votes on key issues. Whether to cut or to find, whatever other solution that people would think best but we'll do it after the greatest and most extensive, democratic, dialogue, debate and conversation that this state has ever witnessed."

I just don't want to see legislation by special election every time we can't get a budget passed in this state. It costs money we don't have, for one thing. Another is the misleading way these issues are presented to voters. I hope Brown can get things done with the legislature. California needs to get back on track.

3. Jerry is not saying he wants that scenario
He is saying he will do what he must to move the State forward. I just can not agree that he is saying he wants to see legislation by special election every time. To say 'if I have to' is not the same as saying 'I want to always'.
Jerry Brown is California's only hope to get back on track at this point.

4. Where did I say I wasn't voting for Brown?
I'm sick of propositions instead of government doing their job.

Arnold did the same thing in 2005 and even though everything failed,it was a costly special election.

5. Did not say you were not voting for him
Sorry if I sounded that way. I am fond of Jerry, and tend to rear up in defense.
