Amber alert issued for baby abducted in Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG -- An Amber alert was issued for an 11 1/2-month-old boy Saturday after he was reportedly snatched from a shopping cart in an Ellensburg supermarket.

The boy was with his grandmother and was seen screaming as a woman rushed him out of the supermarket, said Ellensburg Police Cpl. Brian Jones.

The boy has blond hair and blue eyes and was wearing a gray hooded sweater, white T-shirt with blue trim and navy pants.

Authorities were looking for a white, 1991 four-door Oldsmobile Delta with the Washington license number 574-RXA.

The suspect is a white female in her 30s, of medium height and build, possibly traveling with a white man.

Police believed the vehicle could be headed east toward Spokane. Jones asked anyone who sees the car to call 911 and not to approach the suspects.

The boy has been reunited with his mother. It is believed that the suspects know the parents.
