No gay adoptions, says GOP's Angle
Source: Associated Press

Republican Sharron Angle believes the clergy should be allowed to endorse candidates from the pulpit and opposes laws allowing gays to adopt children, according to a questionnaire by the Nevada Senate hopeful that was obtained by The Associated Press.

Angle, who is trying to unseat Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, completed the four-page questionnaire for a conservative political action committee that has endorsed her candidacy.

The document provides a window into Angle's social and moral views, which would place her among Congress' most conservative members at a time of ongoing culture wars over gay rights, abortion and the boundaries between religion and government.

Among her positions, outlined in answers to 36 yes-or-no questions, Angle would oppose making sexual orientation a protected minority in civil rights laws. In a section on school prayer, she affirms that students and teachers should be able to talk openly about religion in schools, including the right to "publicly acknowledge the Creator."

I know that there are some who are pushing a narrative that Democrats such as Harry Reid are no different than their Republican counterparts in order to suppress Democratic turnout in November. But, if you start to listen to the candidates, and see what they stand for, what they vote for, you can tell otherwise.

One party has tried to push needed reforms, stimulus packages, and environmental legilation. The other party simply said "No" and turned its back on the American people.

2. Clergy have always been able to endorse from the pulpit.
BUT, they forfeit their tax exempt status by doing so, as would any secular non-profit.

8. She opposes abortion in cases of rape, stating that, "God has a plan for every life"...
Edited on Fri Aug-06-10 06:27 AM by old mark
She also stated she was "called by God" to be in politics and lead America tgoward becoming a religious state like, you know, Iran or Saudi Arabia, but a "christian" rather than a muslim theocracy...

She is a "religious" fascist and remarkably open about it - the more you know about her, the worse she appears.

mark

ADDED: She also wants the Federal government to monitor EVERY PREGNANT WOMAN to make sure they carry EVERY BABY to term.

10. I disagree with everything I have ever heard this nut say.
Are the people of Nevada going to follow the example of MN's 6th District and put yet another crazy right-wing woman into our Congress? What is going on with people? Don't they know stupid and extreme when they see it??

12. I find it hilarious that she's always fundraising
on her press interviews.

She just can't say anything that makes her look like a viable candidate.
