Apparent bullet hole found in window of office of Arizona lawmaker
Source: Associated Press

YUMA, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a bullet apparently was fired into an office of a Democratic congressman who has been an outspoken opponent of the state's immigration law.

The apparent bullet hole was found in a window Thursday in the Yuma office of Rep. Raul Grijalva (gree-HAHL'-vuh).

The discovery came on the same day that vocal immigration protests were held in Arizona. A judge a day earlier delayed most of the controversial new law from taking effect

Yuma police are investigating to determine whether the bullet discovery is related to immigration.

Grijalva called for a national boycott of Arizona after the law was passed in April. He reversed course after the judge's ruling.

8. Do you ever pronounce jalapeño as "Jah-luh-peyn-yoh" instead of "Hah-luh-peyn-yoh"?

13. I think he just forgot the sarcasm tag. If not ... yeesh.
On aside, why do non-Nevadans say nay-VAH-dah (or similarly neh-VAH-dah) and not TAY-hahs ('ah' is the soft 'a' sound)? Unless you're speaking Spanish or are otherwise Hispanic, it's pronounced "neh-VAA-duh" 'eh' as in 'Edward the Sparkling Vampire' and hard 'VAA' as in 'Apple' and 'duh' as in 'George duh-bull-you Bush' and "TEX-sus" as in 'Texas sucks'. ;)

15. I don't know about the Nevada pronunciation, but regarding Texas . . .
It can be "Teks ass"(generally used by drunk college kids here) or "Tay hahs" (spelled Tejas) or "Teks sus" (but would don't suck :-) ) . It comes from a Caddo word meaning "friends" or "allies".

Texans (myself included) can be found using Tejas alot to distinguish themselves from out-of-staters, if somebody from New York or Michigan or Iowa, for example used Tejas, I would probably look at them askance. It would sound phony to this Tejano.

11. OMG! Like three weeks ago there were gunshots reported near the home of a Republican...
like only two blocks away from his house!

But nobody mentioned it to the media until now.

3. So, you have peaceful protest from those...
Who are the target of brutal discrimination versus shooting a bullet through a law makers window by someone who probably is in favor of open discrimination based on skin color and language.

And the Left in this country is the threat to our Democracy?

4. Had to know this was going to happen sooner or later

I'm sure the judge's order yesterday pushed the person who did this over the edge.

7. Au contraire:
A Republican politician (state, local, national, it matters not) will arrange for someone to shoot a bullet through his own window, thus getting on the "They do it too!" bandwagon.

Bonus points: if the bullet is shown to have been shot OUT of the R's office.

12. Now was it directly shot at or was it one of those indiscriminant shot-into-the-air shots
...inside city limits like what happened to that one Republican congressman some months ago (last year even?)? He hyped it up into something the local police said wasn't, so I hope Rep. Grijalva takes a more cautious approach.

I read the story at The Hill and I saw some evil comments there. When some people are anonymous they get evil. It's like comment board road rage.
