Military Deaths in Iraq - 585 U.S. service members have died

As of Friday, March 26, 585 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites) a year ago, according to the Department of Defense (news - web sites). Of those, 395 died as a result of hostile action and 190 died of non-hostile causes, the department said. snip

Since May 1, when President Bush (news - web sites) declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 447 U.S. soldiers have died — 280 as a result of hostile action and 167 of non-hostile causes, according to the military.

I glanced at Faux News a couple of hours ago (Jim something the reporter) and he said the marine killed today was the 400th death in Iraq without stating any qualifier (since May 1, or other milestone).

It looks and smells like propaganda....

6. once again, PLEASE don't forget the Iraqis who have died . . .
or been maimed by BushCo's illegal and immoral war . . . I cringe every time I see a headline announcing American deaths, as if the Iraqis are somehow less worthy of mention, somehow less human . . . "there have been thousands of human deaths in Iraq, including almost 600 American servicemen and women" is a far better way to explain what's happening there, imo . . .
