Rice Discusses Terror, but Not Under Oath (Public Relations Nightmare) AP
"WASHINGTON - Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) says the Bush administration has a good story to tell about fighting terrorism and she's pouring it out in television appearances, interviews and newspaper articles. The one place she won't talk is in public, under oath, before the independent commission investigating the Sept. 1, 2001, terrorist attacks.

"That is blossoming into a public relations nightmare."

I could not find this same story, so I hope this is not a dupe. In any event, the AP is now calling Rice's refusal to testify under oath a blossoming public relations nightmare.

4. I suspect
she will stop going on talk shows pretty soon since she is always asked why she won't testify in public under oath. THe separation of powers babble is wearing thin. SOmeone needs to remind her that 9/11 changed everything...

7. Credibilty?
Ms Rice's credibilty is going down the tubes. Since most Americans don't pay much attention to details and form opinions mainly from perceptions, Ms Rice not appearing in public before the commission has the perception that she is hiding info. Ergo, her credibilty is waning rapidly.

10. YES! 911 changed everything!
The Repukes keep saying that 911 changed everything and that's why we have to shut up and accept (insert appropriate outrage here).

We should turn the table and the phrase on them. Condi HAS to waive privelege and testify in public under oath regardless of precedent because...

911 changed everything.

Perfect.

5. I'll say anything...but I won't swear to it.
Translation: I'm lying through my teeth, but nobody ever got convicted of perjury for lying to reporters.

8. Scott McClellan: What's the Difference Between Private & Public Testimony?
Duh........one is open for the public to hear the lies for themselves and the other is secret...maybe?????

"I don't know necessarily what the difference is" between a private interview and public testimony, presidential spokesman Scott McClellan said. "She's going to tell it exactly how it happened," he said.
