Perdue recalls 91,000 lbs of chicken nuggets (contains foreign materials)

2 hours and 52 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Perdue Farms Inc., is recalling about 91,000 pounds of chicken nuggets because the food items may contain foreign materials, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The Georgia-based company announced the recall Monday for bags of “Great Value Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets” after discovering small pieces of blue plastic in some of the food.

Perdue Farms had received customer complaints about the product, which led to the recall. The batch being recalled was produced on June 9.

FSIS has not received any reports of injury at this time, and this is a Class II recall, meaning “there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from the use of the product,” according to the USDA.

Each bag bears the establishment number “P-33944” and a case code of “89008 A0160” on the backside of the packaging. There is also a “Best if Used By” date of June 9, 2011, according to the USDA.

18. Yeah, I was thinking: What is more foreign than "nugget"?
I've cut up many chickens, and have yet to identify any part as a "nugget."

:hippie:

6. I have a pet chicken nugget. You know, nuggets only live to be around five years old?
And they're green at birth. They don't change color until they're 18 weeks old.

I'll post a pic of my pet nugget if I can find one.

9. I tend to think of chicken nuggets as CONSTITUTED OF foreign materials.
But bits of blue plastic does sound like a worse issue than usual.

12. It's like what hot dogs are made out of; shit tubes and anal intestinal..........
.........matter. I don't "do" chicken. You all know that when a "product" says "all beef" what that constitutes, don't you? I also don't "do" bacon anymore either. I am not a vegetarian, but I am careful now (a little late, I'm now 63) as to what I eat.
