Vatican Starts Campaign Vs Gay Marriage

Aha – R's are about to make gay marriage a red herring issue – a new weapon in the fascist arsenal.

Shrub took a stance yesterday – the Vatican launches an anti-gay marriage campaign today (talk about transparent).

They hope to gin it up – amid war, wrecked economy, raped environment – to force Ds to take a stance on it and sink their chances with the middle in 2004.

(For the record, while gay marriage is not at the top of my list of pressing concerns, I don't care who does what -- I am a straight married Catholic guy and this co-opting just pisses me off. The issue belongs in the courts, where judges seem to be headed toward the correct path on this. )

It seems like a concerted effort in the press to make this a top sotry and get people's minds off more important issues to the nation, like the fact TWO Americans died today in Iraq and there is a mystery illness spreading among the troops.
