SA 'abandons' coup suspects
An offer to have the South Africans being held prisoner in Equatorial Guinea deported home was apparently flatly rejected by the South African Government.

Seven South Africans were arrested three weeks ago in Equatorial Guinea's capital, Malabo, on the island of Bioko by that country's police after they were tipped off about a planned coup.

The seven, who were apparently being led by former South African Defence Force recce, Nick du Toit, are alleged to be part of an advanced party aiming to overthrow the government of Equatorial Guinea.
