BAGHDAD (AFP) - One US soldier was killed and two were wounded when their convoy was hit by a roadside bomb in the central Iraqi town of Baquba, a US military spokeswoman said.

"The wounded were taken to a local military facility and are in stable condition," the spokeswoman said, adding that the blast occurred in Baquba, 60 kilometres (35 miles) north of Baghdad.

Earlier, US Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt said that one US soldier had been killed and another wounded on Wednesday when their convoy came under attack north of the Iraqi town of Taji....(more)

Yes, this is a new incident. I wonder if the media can give up a few seconds of covering Kobe and bashing Clarke in order to report these victims of Bush's war. Or am I asking for too much?

Gee, the scant information we are getting on fatalities/injuries these days is unreal.

The US media sucks.

U.S. Soldier Killed in Iraq Bomb Blast
By DANIEL COONEY, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. soldier died Thursday in a bombing north of Baghdad amid warnings that attacks will likely increase with fewer than 100 days left before the coalition hands over sovereignty. A day earlier, a gun battle with insurgents killed one American soldier and three rebels.

A 1st Infantry Division soldier died and two were wounded when a homemade bomb exploded near Baqouba, the military said. The soldiers went to the area after Iraqi security notified them that a homemade bomb had been found. The two injured soldiers were in stable condition.

In Fallujah, west of Baghdad, insurgents attacked a U.S. military convoy Thursday, and TV footage showed an empty Humvee in flames. One Iraqi driver in a civilian car was killed in the crossfire.

6. Did you see CNN this am?
Cactus Jack Cafferty's question of the day was, "Do you think Shrub's WMD jokes last night were appropriate?"

He said the "no" emails were "overwhelming."

Shrub's on a b-i-g losing streak. Here's to hoping it lasts through election day.

9. JOKED about WMDs?!?
Oh man, I missed that- do tell me more!
That sick puke- the arrogance is unbelievable and
is decidedly akin to a sociopath mocking his victim.
How awful for the families with loved ones in danger.

10. Silly DUers
We all know those Iraqis are not cheering and celebrating they are really mourning the deaths of their liberators (Sarcasm off).

I hope * is really happy with himself, cracking wise to GOP cronies about his phony war while our boys/girls are slaughtered.

Here's a little bit of advice Mr. Bush: The men that were in these Humvees don't find your humor the least bit funny asshole.
