Storm rips windows off 110-story Chicago tower
Source: MSNBC

CHICAGO - A swift-moving storm carrying high winds and pelting rain knocked out windows at Chicago's 110-story Willis Tower Friday. The storm also knocked out electricity for hundreds of thousands across northern Illinois.

SNIP

The National Weather Service says winds in excess of 70 mph were recorded as the storm whipped into Chicago.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the storm left 200,000 Commonwealth Edison customers without power and delayed many flights and Metra commuters.

1. Sounds terrible!
Last night's storm in Minnesota really hit hard, both in the southern and northern parts of the state, with a record number of tornadoes and huge hail. Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the rest of the metro area didn't even get any rain. We were lucky.

I hope everyone in the Chicago area is somewhere safe.

2. We are about 15 minute out from this approaching storm here in mid-michigan
Looks like it weaken some but could be a huge lightning event.

Proceeding to shutdown electronics until this thing passes.

7. However, given that Sears was bought by K-Mart, perhaps it should be the K-Mart Tower.
They could put a big flashing blue light on top.
