U.S. announces more sanctions against Iran
Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department said Wednesday that it would penalize an Iranian bank and several Iranian companies and individuals it says are deeply involved in developing Iran's nuclear program.

The targets include five companies and 90 ships that Iran used to evade three previous rounds of sanctions, said Stuart Levey, Treasury's undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence. Levey said Iran even renamed and repainted some ships to try to evade recognition.

"To be truly effective in ending Iran's proliferation activities and Iran's support for terrorism, we need to have in place a concerted, international approach," Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said. He said he expects other countries to announce their own sanctions against Iran soon. "This is not something the United States can do alone."

The announcement came a week after the United Nations Security Council approved a fourth round of sanctions.

1. I wonder if anyone's going to ask for evidence of a weapons program this time?
Or just go along with the US and its personal vendetta?

2. Timothy Geithner is now the Secretary of State?
Or is he just standing in while Hilary vacations in her Crystal Palace on Mars.

Nontheless, I'm sure that they are just Jealous of the "Fleet of Nuclear Power Plants" that Obama gushed about in a recent passing of gas about American Energy Policy.

9. Sanctions, like trade treaties, are on the cusp of what state and treasury does
Edited on Thu Jun-17-10 10:26 AM by karynnj
You might notice that the Senate bill came out of the Banking Committee, not Foreign Relations. Another example is trade treaties where hearings are in the Finance committee.

( Clinton testified before the Armed Services Committee yesterday on START.)

4. At whose bidding is the US acting in Iran? Or, what oil company
lost the most property when the Shah was deposed?

6. Stupid Iran
Don’t you know that if you want to have a U.N. sanctioned terrorist organization like the C.I.A., and be allowed to proliferate nuclear technology like the U.S.A., you need the support of the “World Bank” and their crony puppet bureaucrats psychopaths in Washington? Only then can the murdering of innocence or being a threat, by any means profitable, be justified, glorified, encouraged and even praised as a peace maker…

In other words Iran, if you want too be part of the problem without being scrutinized by supper power tyrannies you need to swallow your ego and start terrorizing people in the name of Wall Street, K Street and the New World Order. In other words Iran, if you want to stop being made out to look like the boogieman, acquiesce to the Money Masters, and by all means, do it in the name of some mythical god; a golden bull would be best…
