EPA finds Senate climate bill affordable
Source: Reuters

The EPA said the bill sponsored by Senators John Kerry, a Democrat, and Joseph Lieberman, an independent, would cost households an average of $79 to $146 per year.

That figure was similar to the price tag the EPA put in October on the climate bill passed by the House of Representatives.

President Barack Obama will address the nation on Tuesday night and is expected to offer ambitious plans to cut U.S. dependence on fossil fuels in the wake of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, including passing a broad energy bill.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wants a broad energy bill to move to the Senate floor in coming weeks, though the Kerry-Lieberman legislation faces stiff opposition from lawmakers in coal and oil states.

3. It's a start in the correct direction
Now get us some low cost loans to install, instead of this tax exemption BS. It is easier for lower income households to add it to their power bill or house payment than to try to come up with the total amount then get the run around on rebates or tax exemptions.

Our power company does offer generators, and heat/ac systems and a few things, but not solar panels at least they did not the last time I explored their site several months ago.

I mean for those of us who do the shorter tax forms because we don't make a bunch of $ and do not have a lot of itemized deductions.
