AllAfrica.comCharles Bandora, a top Genocide fugitive, was yesterday arrested at a Norwegian airport on after he flew from Belgium where he had been detained.
Grounds for his release from detention in Belgium were not clear by press time, but according to reports, the suspect was travelling on a Malian passport the time he was arrested in Norway.
When contacted, Prosecution Spokesperson, Augustin Nkusi, welcomed the development. "I cannot speculate on why he was released in Belgium, but this latest development is good. Bandora was the president of MRND in Bugesera during the Genocide and he facilitated Interahamwe in the killing of the Tutsi," Nkusi noted.
