Mexico asks for probe into teen's shooting death by U.S. border agent
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- The Mexican government is requesting a quick and transparent investigation into the fatal shooting by a U.S. Border Patrol agent of a Mexican teen in Ciudad Juarez on Monday night, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

The teen was shot during a rock-throwing incident, Mexican and U.S. officials said.

Mexico "reiterates that the use of firearms to repel a rock attack represents a disproportionate use of force, particularly coming from authorities who receive specialized training on the matter," the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday in a news release.

The teen's death was the second at the hands of U.S. border authorities in less than two weeks.

2. what about being as upset about the unsolved 800 murders of young women in Juarez ...??

Since about 1993, between 200 and 800 women have been raped and murdered; accurate numbers are impossible to obtain due to bureaucratic coverups and incompetence. The bodies of the women (mostly young, many of them recent arrivals seeking work in the region's maquiladoras, or assembly plants) turn up in rubbish heaps, by highways, or half-buried in the surrounding desert.

3. BBC:Mexican demands investigation after boy dies at US border
Page last updated at 00:39 GMT, Wednesday, 9 June 2010 01:39 UK

Mexico has demanded a full investigation after a Mexican boy died after apparently being shot by a US border patrol agent.

Mexican police said the youth was killed close to the bridge linking the border cities of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez.

The US border patrol said one of its agents had fired his weapon after stones were thrown at him.

The FBI says it is investigating the incident.

"disproportionate force"

"We energetically condemn the death of a minor near the international border crossing in Ciudad Juarez", the Mexican foreign ministry said in a statement.

"Using firearms to respond to an attack with rocks is a disproportionate use of force, particularly coming from a officials that are specially trained," it said.

6. it damn well should.
I don't trust the US government to investigate the Border Patrol fairly; it would blame everything on the dead kid.

Border Patrol fires into Mexico in rock-throwing incident, kills teen

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico - Angry reaction is increasing in Mexico after a U.S. Border Patrol agent fatally shot a 15-year-old Mexican boy after a group trying to illegally enter Texas threw rocks at officers at an international bridge near downtown El Paso.

The shooting, which happened Monday evening, drew sharp criticism from Mexico, where the government said Tuesday that "the use of firearms to repel attacks with stones represents disproportionate use of force, particularly coming from authorities who have received specialized training."

It was the second death of a Mexican at the hands of Border Patrol officers in less than two weeks, and the case threatened to swell into a full-blown international incident when U.S. and Mexican officials traded suggestions of misconduct.

Arturo Sandoval, a spokesman for the Chihuahua Attorney General's office, said a spent shell casing was found near the body — raising the question of whether the fatal show was fired inside Mexico, although he did not explicitly make that suggestion. That would violate the rules for Border Patrol agents, who are supposed to stay on the U.S. side of the border.
