Slovenia backs Croatia border deal in referendum vote
Source: BBC

Slovenes have narrowly voted in favour of accepting a deal on a border dispute with Croatia, in a national referendum.

The agreement, signed last year, allowed international arbitrators to resolve the issue.

The border dispute concerns the small Bay of Piran in the Adriatic Sea, and dates back to the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991.

1. This has been going on for years, though
And it's over something like 5-20km of land total.

Lots of little non-sense that makes the situation miserable for all involved.

3. Ex-pat & veteran:P
I was in Bosnia with SFOR in the 90s and met a local gal who didn't want to move to the U.S.

It's really silly here. Especially between Slovenia and Croatia. For whatever reason, they
don't like each other and they love to make things complicated. Slovene Customs always give
me a hard time with my U.S. passport, but Croatian driver's license. Just the time of
thing that's "normal" here.

4. My brother was there with the Canadian army in the 90s.
He loved the Croatian topless beaches.

5. They're great!
(This is NOT intentionally ethnocentric!!!!)
Unfortunately, there are plenty of Czech and Polish tourists who take advantage of the liberal rules on the beaches
and they should really visit a gym before coming.
