InsiderAdvantage Poll Shows Bush Leading Kerry
LOS ANGELES and ATLANTA, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Creators Syndicate released today its first syndicated poll conducted by InsiderAdvantage. The survey shows that, if the 2004 presidential election were held today, the results would be as follows:
- George W. Bush: 46 percent
- John Kerry: 41 percent
- Ralph Nader/someone else: 4 percent
- Undecided/don't know: 9 percent

The InsiderAdvantage survey was conducted with The Marketing Workshop on March 18 and 19. It surveyed 500 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

Creators Syndicate, which in the past has syndicated The Harris Poll, begins syndication today of InsiderAdvantage polling. The column will appear under the name of InsiderAdvantage Chairman Matthew Towery, who has penned a column for Creators Syndicate for several years

1. An N of 500 is a little light
Plus I don't like "registered voter" samples. Too many dead beats don't vote, and often they are people who would be on our side.

3. That's why Kerry has to do more to energize the base --
we're the ones who do the foot work as precinct captains who drag the 'reluctant' voters to the polls. So far he's seems to be going out of his way to piss off the progressive wing as he cowtows to some mythological muddled middle. It's his to lose.

6. Creators Syndicate = Rightwing Playground
I wouldn't take much stock in the poll.

I doubt they have the guts to provide the science behind the poll.

Most likely because it's faith-based.

9. Creators Syndicate is NOT a RW Playground
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 04:53 PM by Atman
It was founded by a group of artists and writers sick of getting boned by big corporate syndicates for exhorbitant cuts of their work. Now, Creators has grown, to be sure, and they do offer a voice for many different viewpoints, but it is not accurate to call them RW.

7. One of the founders of Insiders Advantage worked for Gingrich;
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 04:49 PM by DemMother
the other is a southern Democrat. Matt Towery (the Gingrich guy) has a column on Creators Syndicate urging the Republicans to link Kerry to Kennedy. Gingrich is also listed as a member of the board of directors of Insiders.

Insiders Advantage's specialty seems to be helping "business do business with the government," which isn't a crime, but it makes me wonder what experience they have in political polling.

Go see for yourself--I think a little background is always good when dealing with polls that seem to come out of the blue...

18. Yahoo
is now also a right-wing operation. (Source in original post is Yahoo).
Yahoo CEO is a huge contributor to Bush, the RNC and right-wing PACS. He gives millions to the far right.
DUMP YAHOO! (and tell 'em why you're leaving)

8. Nonsense poll
This is there first-ever poll. Its just a little screwy. How did they generate their registered voters? How did they get a +/-4MoE from only 500 pollees?

10. What I find astounding is that Bush only got 46 percent
in a dubious poll at best. Also that Kerry has been on vacation now for almost a week and this was also taken pre-clark bombshell, I think Kerry is in good shape. I now think that this election is Kerry's to lose. What I mean is that bush's credibility has been damaged sufficient enough for Kerry to take the high road and then come back with a positive agenda. I believe that Kerry is in a strong position similar to Clinton in 92 when you could feel the country was in the mood for change.

17. What you should find astounding is that Kerry is polling at 41%
See it is a close race, the polls even say it is close, so when Bush wins in Nov. they have a history of polls showing that it was going to be close and they do not have to justify another Florida. Kerry needs to go into Nov with a 70-30 advantage so there will be no way to cover it up. Do not let these SOB's in the MoE or they will be able to justify and explain everything because of a history of polls showing that Bush was still electable.

11. I went to their site. MAN does it reek of Put-Up Job
You KNOW how the Busheviks use their "Mockingbird" surrogates to put out bogus polls justifying their future crimes.

This reeks to me as being simply one more.

It doesn't look good... they are preparing the backstory for this year's election theft, putting the backstory in place.

Kerry must win by 10% to "win" by 1%.

We have a herculean task, ladies and gentlemen, as if we were running the 50-yard dash and Bunnypants gets to start at the 10-yard line while Uncle Karl can glue our shoes together with impunity because Herr Ashcroft is the referee.

Our danger has only just begun.

13. Most fascinating thing is that Bush number taken by itself
Bush is at like DEAD BANG ON 46% and he isn't moving.

What's this, at least ten straight national polls now by a variety of instruments where he's been between 45% and 48% with a mode of 46%? I swear I've seen at least 7 national polls where Bush is getting exactly 46%.

This bodes extremely well for Kerry no matter what the righty pundits and mainstrean stenographers say. It doesn't make any difference how "hard" Bush's support is if that support is less than it'll take to win and he doesn't have any "soft" suport. You don't get extra credit for intensity of support.

I bet $200 million in advertising won't budge that "Bush = 46%" number one point.

16. Any incumbent under 50% is in trouble.
This is because the undecideds usually break against him. Day by day, and voter by voter, Bush himself is convincing the American people that he should not be president. That is the explanation of his steady decline in the polls since 9/11. Bush is hoping to reverse that trend, but his incompetency and his compulsive and incessant lying will continue to work against him.

FIRE THE LIAR

19. What's So Hard To Believe?
That a middle of the road, right pandering, corporate shill, is isolating himself from the democrats that Dean brought into the party, and therefor letting their votes slip into the realm of undecided and Ralph Nader? Sounds perfectly believable to me. Maybe you should spend less time criticizing the poll messenger and start criticizing Kerry. We'd all have a much easier time convincing disaffected democrats to vote for him if he started acting like a democrat, and showing the backbone that Dean did. As a member of Democracy for America, I hope we can give him that backbone. If not, say hello to four more years of Bush!
