Conway responds to Paul's "Un-American" Claim
by Jonze
Fri May 21, 2010 at 11:21:13 AM PDT

Seems like Rand Paul served up this issue to Conway on a silver platter. We all know the story here, Paul desperate to change the subject from his remarks favoring discrimination allowed by businesses on any basis - including race, sex, sexual orientation, disability - they see fit.

Anyways he took a swing at President Obama and his response to the BP oil disaster, claiming it was Un-American for him to criticize and place blame for what Paul believed was an accident.

*************

Rand Paul apparently has a deeply held conviction that corporations should be allowed to do what they see fit without oversight or accountability. He even goes so far as to say that that criticizing corporations when they hurt taxpayers and working families - as in the case of the massive BP oil disaster - is 'un-American.'

As Attorney General, I've seen how corporations can take advantage of consumers - whether it's oil companies that gouge Kentucky customers after a series of storms or pharmaceutical companies that commit Medicaid fraud. I have a deeply held conviction that we need a senator who will hold companies accountable. We have enough senators in Washington who are looking out for what's best for corporations. My sole focus will be looking out for Kentucky's taxpayers and families.

15. Hey wait a minute! Corporations are people - INDIVIDUALS!!!!!!
Edited on Fri May-21-10 07:09 PM by breadandwine
Just like that song said,

Let the corporate internationale unite the human race!

Opposing corporations is UNAMERICAN.

I knew that RIGHT off the moment a good ole American multinational company named BRITISH Petroleum leaked oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

Leave Rand Paul alone! He's just trying to defend individuals. Just like Ayn Rand. When Ayn Rand said she admired serial killers because they didn't respect the TYRANNY of societal strictures, I just KNEW that Rand Paul was the man for ME! Same with ALL Republicans! That's why we need the GOP to win! Serial killers need respect TOO ya know!

Who needs society? THAT'S why some people need to go out into the woods and live in a SHACK eating canned beans, stock up on dried goods and wait for Armageddon with their shotgun by their side! Because survivalists are right!!!!!!

So let's all give a SHOUT OUT for Rand Paul!

4. Great response!
He's doing a good job relating everything Militia-boy says to how it would hurt Kentuckians. That might be the thing that gives him a chance. I just hope the Churches, acting in their usual capacity as tax-free Republican Political Action Committees, are not able to make people vote for Paul.

13. That's really well said. I appreciate Jonze's complaint that Conway should have disastered it up...
Edited on Fri May-21-10 06:21 PM by time_has_come
..but why use all your bullets at once? As this tragic oil spill inevitably gets worse, Conway can point out once again that Paul thinks it's "un-American" to get tough with BP.

edit: it's not like people won't be constantly be reminded the Gulf is suffering a horrifying disaster. Conway doesn't have to say it again.

17. Excellent Response - Will The Corporate Media Continue To Carry Rand Paul's Water?
For example, since Rand Paul canceled on MTP, then why not interview Conway?
