Man throws Molotov cocktail at US Consulate in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, March 22 (Reuters) - A Brazilian man threw a gasoline bomb at the U.S. Consulate in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro on Monday, but no one was hurt in the incident, police said.

Andre Luis Lopes da Silva, 36, was arrested after tossing a Molotov cocktail at the consulate and hitting a consular vehicle with a crowbar.

The explosive hit the building's doorstep and blew up.

"He (Silva) said he was acting on a spiritual mission," police chief Gilberto Ribeiro said. Silva also claimed the attack was to protest against the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq, Ribeiro added.

Now we can invade a cool country! The beaches, the samba, the soccer team, all those beautiful Brazilian women. I can't wait 'till the US is the master of Brazil!!

7. The Bush/neocon foreign policy is worse than a failure,...
,...it is the epitome of how to create more terrorism. Bulldozen, bulldog, bullying aggression DOES NOT WORK!!! When will these power-mongering, control freaks get that. Oh, yeah,...they are power-mongering, control freaks,...who don't give a rat's butt about the value of other people or their lives or perspectives or struggles.

9. Richard Clarke accused Bush last night
on 60 minutes, Clarke said that the invasion of Iraq had made the U.S. less safe, was breeding terrorists, and, it seems, even those nations which want to have amenable relationships with us find our policies alienate them from their own citizens.

Clarke also noted, when Bush wanted to IGNORE bin Laden and immediately attack Iraq that Bush would not stop until someone told him that the WHOLE WORLD would be against us if he did this.

I suppose he thought that if he waited and lied, it wouldn't matter anymore.

Bush is so repulsive. He's an embarrassment to a great nation, and his policies are a slap in the face to democracy.

8. Am I the only one?
I have this sinking feeling in my stomach, that the BeelzeBub Neo-Con administration is inching us toward the abyss, full well knowing what they are doing.

I've been posting here for almost a year now. Last year, I was filled with rage and so relieved to find a place where I could vent my frustrations. I was absolutely appalled and overcome with anger at what I saw in the leadership of my country, the one place which should be a beacon of hope for the rest of the world.

This is an awesome country, blessed with natural resources and a history of people who really fought for what they believed in, namely freedom. What happened in the meantime?

I really believe that the people who are running the show are allowing this to happen.

10. When I acknowledged the propaganda being spewed,...
,...around November 2002, I asked a friend of mine whether this administration was projecting its own fear of "armageddon" upon the planet,...because,...that was what I was sensing. His response was simply that, I was valid in my sensation of being a screen for the projector. I have since, obviously, quit being a screen.

These people should be in a mental institution or undergoing some kind of treatment for their psychotic darkness. They are in leadership positions and casting their hard-hearted horrors across this earth.
