WASHINGTON – The White House says Vice President Joe Biden's son Beau Biden is undergoing treatment at a Delaware hospital.

The White House says the younger Biden is awake and alert, and communicating with his parents and wife, who are with him.

Beau Biden is Delaware's attorney general. He had considered running for the Senate seat his father held before becoming vice president, but ultimately decided against it.

2. They just mentioned it on MSNBC. Nothing more than was offered in that tiny artice from AP.

On edit: they just said he was with Joe Biden at some meetings in Delaware, and whatever this is happened there, and he was taken to the hospital. There's a history of neurological problems in the family, MSNBC said, and Joe Biden recently recovered from an aneurism.

Beau Biden is conscious and is talking. Family with him.

(Reuters) - Vice President Joe Biden's son, Beau, was in a Delaware hospital on Tuesday for an undisclosed illness and was described as alert and awake.

Biden, 41, is Delaware's attorney general and opted against running for the U.S. Senate seat once held by his father.

A statement from Joe Biden's office said Beau is at Christiana Medical Center "undergoing treatment at present." Joe and Jill Biden were at his side.

"He is alert and awake, and communicating with his parents and his wife, who are with him. We will provide more details as they become available," the statement said.
