Biden Predicts Up To 500,000 Jobs Created a Month

Vice President Biden on Friday declared that over the course of the next few months, the administration will be creating between 250,000 and 500,000 jobs a month.

He acknowledged that he's gotten into trouble for making job predictions in the past, according to reporters traveling with him, but that didn't seem to stop the VP from making bold assumptions.

The comments came at a Pittsburgh fundraiser where Biden was campaigning for Mark Critz, a candidate in the special election to fill the late Congressman John Murtha's seat.

"I'm here to tell you some time in the next couple of months we're going to be creating between 250,000 jobs a month and 500,000 jobs a month. Because I'm telling you something, folks. We caught a lot of bad breaks on the way down," Biden told the crowd. "We're going to catch a few good breaks because of good planning on the way up."

16. I know a couple of small business people........
One a woman who owns a plastic packaging company. She was a big supporter of Obama and now is kicking herself for her "mistake". She is not hiring and is hard-pressed to stay afloat. She employs 30 people and is very concerned with the health care mandates (she provides subsidized health care now) and the possible impacts of cap and trade and upcoming tax hikes on folks in her income range. Our congress and executive do not live in the real world of hard numbers and meeting payrolls. They use words like trillions without any concept that it is an un payable debt.

I guess it just keeps rolling till the whole stinking Calliope goes over the cliff.

8. I am hopeful
Yeah Biden makes some stupid gaffes every once in a while, but he acknowledged that and when on to make these predictions. I feel like the administration has something planned, this is just too stupid of a thing to say as a guess. I cant wait to see how they explain how these jobs are going to be created.

What's the point of a job, if it doesn't enable one to care for themselves and their families? Reform healthcare and corporate theft now.

Oh wait...government buys 500,000 tin cups. Will be issued to unemployed 'little' people so that they can sell pencils on streetcorners.

19. I Wish Biden Wouldn't Have Said This
Because when April doesn't produce the 250-500,000 jobs the Obama administration will get hammered. Never mind that by about August Biden's prediction will prove to be true. This is playing expectations game very poorly.

28. Supposedly 1.5 million people were transitioned from part time to full time work last month
So that is the equivalent of about 700,000 jobs in a month (assuming each goes from 20 to 40 hours). And there aren't endless part time workers out there, you have to start hiring new full timers.

29. How???????????????????????????
To create that many jobs we'd have to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US en masse and bring back many IT jobs. Many construction jobs working on public works/infrastructure would have to be created.

I really just don't see it happening in this era of hyperglobalization.

Which if the economy added 500K jobs per month we would be back to where we were before the recession in about 16 to 18 months. Right in time for the re-election campaign. Here's hoping.
