Calif. nonprofit sues to obtain Palin contract
Source: Associated Press

updated 2:57 p.m. MT, Fri., April 16, 2010

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A California open government group filed a lawsuit Friday against a state university over its refusal to disclose documents related to a planned speech by Sarah Palin.

Californians Aware filed the lawsuit in Stanislaus County Superior Court against California State University, Stanislaus, seeking an order by a judge to release information about Palin's contract with the school's nonprofit foundation.

The former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate is scheduled to visit the Central Valley campus in June. Palin is now a commentator for the Fox News cable television network.

The university has repeatedly denied public records requests filed by Californians Aware, a state lawmaker and The Associated Press seeking Palin-related documents. It says contract negotiations were handled by its foundation, which it claims is legally exempt from the California Public Records Act.

12. Bet the contract says they can't ask her about the Bush Doctrine.
Or any newspapers she regularly reads.

3. Gee, I can make up anything I want about it.
All she has to do is release it to the public. What is she trying to hide?

birthers should understand my new found logic.

13. Sarah Palin: ‘Birther’?
Edited on Sat Apr-17-10 05:37 PM by Lasher

Sarah Palin has apparently joined the ranks of the “birthers.” In an interview with conservative talk radio host Rusty Humphries, Palin said it is "fair game" politically to ask Obama to produce his long-form birth certificate to prove he’s eligible to be president. Palin later softened the statement on her Facebook page, saying she’s never "suggested that he was not born in the United States." Will the ex-Governor's endorsement of the birthers legitimize their fact-challenged theories, or further erode Palin's credibility?

Palin’s the gift that keeps on giving: "You just gotta' love Sarah Palin," says Jed Lewison in Daily Kos. Just when you think she’s "reached her kookiest extreme," she "goes birther." Let’s hope Palin’s new birtherism inspires the GOP base to nominate this "neverending fountain of crazy" for president in 2012. Democrats couldn’t ask for a softer target. "Special note for Sarah: in case you hadn't heard, President Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen."

It is not true to say she isn't a birther. But to be fair, it would be hard to prove beyond debate that she definitely is one. If she thinks there's money in it she'll declare herself Queen of May.

5. What is she hiding ?
That must be pretty dirty stuff because if they don't want to release it then it have to be worst than what we already know about that awful witch.

17. If nothing more, the contract likely suggests Sarah wallows in self-indulgence, self-glorification,
and has brought new meaning to pampered, neurotic "high maintenance." :P

8. It's their best course of action
If it gets out that someone from the university was getting a kickback from Palin, Inc. for
arranging the booking, they go to jail. Better to just stonewall, and hope no court order
is forthcoming before all evidence can be destroyed.

14. This lawsuit will bring out the truth, maybe.
The article ends:

Swanson has said a nondisclosure clause in Palin's contract prevents him from divulging her compensation package. He has not responded to requests for comment related to the investigation or the lawsuit.

State Sen. Leland Yee, a Democrat, has called for university foundations to be included under the state's public records act.

"Our public university executives need to stop acting like they are running private country clubs and personal slush funds," Yee said.

15. Sarah Palin
I say it again: Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman are the
female counterparts to "Dumb and Dumber". These two
broads are out for one thing: CELEBRITY AND THE MONEY IT
CREATES.

So, maybe they are not dumb and dumber, but........WITCH IS

16. OMG! Is this a commencement speach? The woman can't speak correct English. Her main message is to
incite violence and she so ignorant to the facts, she gets the people riled up over her lies. I'm sure glad my child doesn't go that school. Innstead of taking the great opportunity she has right now to do good for this country, by talking about the importance of listening, learning the facts, debating, cooperating and compromising, she is busy padding her pockets and spreading hate speach. What a loser.
