Edited on Wed Jul-09-03 05:47 AM by nadinbrzezinski
By the way, when you read this, when did we move to oh July 8th, 1973?

I guess HG Wells was correct... I write for a living and I could not write and sell this shit!

Some seek inquiry for uranium claim
By Judy Keen, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — Democrats pounced Tuesday on an admission by the White House that President Bush unwittingly relied on false information when he said in his State of the Union speech that Iraq had tried to buy uranium from Africa to restart its nuclear weapons program.
"What else don't we know?" asked Sen. Bob Graham of Florida, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination.

The disclosure revived questions about whether Bush exaggerated the threat posed by Iraq in order to build support for war. He also insisted that Iraq had chemical and biological weapons, but none have been found.

8. Except it wasn't "unwitting"
That's Joseph Wilson's whole point: he told them the Niger uranium story was phony ALMOST 11 MONTHS before Smirk's "State of the Empire" address in Jan '03. The cabal is admitting to a lesser charge is hopes of deflecting the REAL problem.

DON'T LET THEM CHANGE THE SUBJECT!

5. unwitting - that about sums him up
Well they can't let it be said that junior is a malicious, oportunistic liar, willing to say anything to achieve his ends. So the best defense they have left is to say he's unwitting, ignorant, sloppy, easily misled. That must be pretty uncomfortable. Ha!

to really hit them with the incompetence label. If that's their position, that the Chimp "unwittingly relied on false information" then he's grossly inocompetent. Plain and simple and there's no way around it. We need people levelling that criticism at him CONSTANTLY and LOUDLY. For god's sake, they had a catastrophic intel failure on 9/11 and now THIS. What did they fix after 9/11? Why can't we see the 9/11 report? Why are they blocking the 9/11 inquiry? We need to know how intel failed on 9/11 so shit like this (catastrophic intel failures) doesn't KEEP HAPPENING!!

11. Terrance Wilkinson and Bush
White House admits Bush wrong about Iraqi nukes
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_2518.shtml
The report had already been discredited," said Terrance J. Wilkinson, a CIA advisor present at two White House briefings. "This point was clearly made when the President was in the room during at least two of the briefings."

Bush's response was anger, Wilkinson said.

"He said that if the current operatives working for the CIA couldn't prove the story was true, then the agency had better find some who could," Wilkinson said. "He said he knew the story was true and so would the world after American troops secured the country."

I can't find this story in any other souce right now except Capitol Hill Blue - don't know how reliable they are.
