Downtown building evacuated; 5 people react to powder-filled letter
Source: Columbus Dispatch

Workers are returning to a Downtown building that was evacuated after a letter containing a "powdery substance" caused eye irritation and headaches for at least five people, according to the Columbus Fire Division.

Fire officials received the first call about the letter at 9:45 a.m.

The former Lazarus building, at 50 W. Town St., houses several state government offices, including the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Job and Family Services, and the Department of Insurance.

Streets around the building were closed but are expected to re-open.

7. tks
It doesn't appear to have been a powder, but an odor of some sort. Envelope was from a reputable company, that's all they know.
