Report: Rep. John Dingell getting death threats over health care reform
By Aaron Foley | MLive.com
April 02, 2010, 1:21PM

U.S. Rep. John Dingell (D-Dearborn) says in the aftermath of passing health care reform, he and members of his staff have been getting death threats so serious, he has contacted the FBI.

“They’ve been very nasty," the 83-year-old congressman tells The Monroe Evening News. Dingell, a Democrat, spoke with the Evening News following a luncheon on Thursday where he praised the future effects health care reform will bring.

“This has been the biggest, most complex piece of legislation which I’ve ever worked on,” he said.

Dingell's role in health care reform has been significant for a number of reasons. One, as MLive's Jonathan Oosting pointed out last month, Dingell presided over the passage of Medicare in 1965. He lent the gavel from that session to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who used it to usher in the new legislation.

1. I'm sure Mika will cover this
as extensively and seriously as she did the Eric Cantor threat. Mika spent all of Tuesday morning bemoaning the fact that leftwing "hatred" wasn't receiving the coverage that the rightwing craziness was. She held up Cantor's death threat as worse than any of the other acts from the previous week after health care reform was passed. She failed to mention that the kook arrested for the Cantor threat had previously threated Obama, Pelosi and Reid as well as Bush. The guy was such a nut that he wasn't taken seriously until he "threatened" Cantor.
Mika was such a drama queen over the fact that it was a "DEATH THREAT!" which of course trumped all other acts of the rightwing. Let's see how much air time this gets. Wanna place a bet? I bet zero. The lives of Democrats aren't half as important as the lives of republicans where the MSM are concerned.

:grr:

5. Do we hear crickets ?
Can you just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot!

FBI would have been all over this land looking for anyone that said a word about Rove or anyone else in his posse.

He said his office recorded an increase in threats in August as debate sharpened on health care, then the numbers seemed to ebb, and then increased again with passage of the sweeping health care bill.

He said he’s not bothered by threats or protests. “I’ve had crosses burned on my lawn,” he said, recalling the days in the mid-1960s when he was among those voting to pass civil rights legislation.

8. Can you just imagine if this had happened in reverse during GW
dictatorship?

We behaved like little puppy dogs.

Talked among ourselves but what did we do?

Marched a bit, they didn't show it on TV

Tried to count the chads(sp.) they locked the doors on us.

Complained about Clarence Thomas( pushed him right threw without a fight.)

Marched against the War -- so what, they were not afraid of us.

When you look back ~ we did next to nothing other than worked hard to get a Democrat elected.

That we did and this is the result of their anger.

Now tell us who has the POWER in America.

12. Clarence Thomas was waaay before monkeyboy's tenure.
You must be referring to either 1) the new chief puke justice John Roberts, or 2) scuzhead Samuel Alito.
