Backlash builds over Palin invite to CSU-Stanislaus
Source: Fresnobee.com

TURLOCK -- Organizers knew that inviting former vice presidential candidate and ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to California State University, Stanislaus, would generate talk.

"I didn't know it would be this big, this fast," said Matt Swanson, president of the university foundation, which invited Palin to headline a black-tie fund-raiser June 25.

State Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, wants to know how much the foundation is paying Palin, pointing out that very few students could afford the $500 ticket price.

A professor started a Facebook group called "Sarah Palin, Terrible Choice for 50th Anniversary of CSU Stanislaus."

7. Stanislaus has always been a fundie school.
Ironic, too, because when the Republicans cut the budget in half, the school's building plans were also cut in half. So, they got half a theater, half a cafeteria, half a library, half a lawn.

lol

10. I find it amazing that any state university would invite a GOP speaker.
The GOP want to cut taxes, which umm... help fund state universities.

11. You know what the student demographics look like there....
It is not childeren of the privileged, that's for sure. I would wager that that Stanislaus State is 60% latino, at least. Sure a few right winger kids go there. But I bet it's a tiny percentage....This is no longer the central valley of the 60's and 70's.

12. what would really be great is if some anonymous benefactor bought
a bucket load of tickets and GAVE them to the student body...seed the whole event with a hostel crowd. Then they could heckle the hell out of her at the event!.....even stand up and turn their backs to her while she babbles her drivel. Maybe even start demanding answers about Willow's criminal activities and how Palin bought her kid's freedom at the expense of the other kids involved....great way to demonstrate accountability and responsibility
