Bush Glad to Be in the Campaign Fray and Not Above It

(Steno Sue's latest penning :puke:)

WASHINGTON, March 17 — A rule of Washington is that presidents should not descend too early into the swamp of a political campaign.

President Bush, for one, thinks that is nonsense.

It was the president's decision, White House and campaign officials said in interviews this week, to transform himself into an out-and-out political candidate a full eight months before the election. It was the president's decision, they said, to directly attack Senator John Kerry the day after Super Tuesday, when Mr. Kerry became the presumptive Democratic nominee.

And it was the president's decision to start an early round of negative ads against Mr. Kerry, who with the other Democratic candidates had been lobbing verbal explosives at Mr. Bush from the first of the year.

"He said since they were blasting him for two months, they had to use `comparative ads,' " said Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York, who spent a day last week in Long Island with Mr. Bush. "And he smiled when he said that. He said that would get the debate started."

(edited 'cause I'm just learning how to post )

1. He is just covering up the fact that no incumbant president in history
has had to work so hard to get re-selected.

They are desperate and Bush is trying not to show it.

2. That must explain why they're backfiring so badly.

"Bush thinks" and "president's decision."

4. "bush thinks," like "military intelligence," is mutually inconsistent.

9. IOW, an oxymoron -- but in this case
with a extra-supersized helping of "moron" added.

5. I hope it makes the truth come out sooner.
The * administration is misquided, misleading and they lie about everything. They suck.

It''s great to post here and really convenient, too, but I'm marching on Saturday. The media whores will deny the numbers, so I'm going to show up and make their lie that much greater.

Anybody else up for it?

6. When he decides to be the "Field General" . . . .
Miserable failure follows. What arrogance to continue these personal initiatives. His pet tax cuts created a record deficit and his war in Iraq continues to kill volunteer soldiers willing to die in order to protect us from WMD. These omens indicate to me he's not going to show any particular genius in handling an election. Good thing jr's flabby sycophants are afraid to say he's out of his depth.

7. Hmmm...maybe
Kerry should take a vacation & let shrub shoot his weak wad. Then Kerry can return and blast this fool out of the political waters.

8. Doing it already
I think that actually is Kerry's strategy. He's already prompted three or four major over-extended reactions from Team Bush and the Best Li'l Whorehouse in Washington (i.e., the Washington Press Corps). Each time Kerry made the slightest poke in Bush's direction, Herr Rove and the Valkyries called thunder down from the heavens, only the lightning bolt hit them in the ass.

I have a little more hope than I did, but I still think it's a better than 50/50 chance that Bush will steal the election in November.

10. "back" to campaigning theme... when did he ever stop
campaigning? Seems that all he has done as president is sign a few bills, fund raise for campaigning (his and the midterms), push policy that assists with fund raising, go on or host a few State dignitary meetings, and take vacation. With the lions share of the time spent on vacation and campaign fund raising.

11. Oh I'll just
bet. We all know he'd rather be napping or eating pretzels, etc. The events of this week do show why its important for Kerry to pick a running mate soon, the rethugs are all coming at him and he is forced to fight back virtually alone. I really didn't expect crashcart to come out of his tomb as he is the ultimate liability and a great VP candidate would contrast that perfectly. I hope he choses wisely.

12. Bush enjoys the hell out of slinging crap against others and bullying!
Edited on Thu Mar-18-04 07:51 AM by tlcandie
Bush LOVES these kind of games...it is what he did best for his poppy when he was wringing support from the RWingers.

He's NOT innocent and he loves the smell of napalm in the morning! He's sick in the head IMO. Thoroughly enjoys the games of destruction and death makes him feel POWERFUL!!

When he screws people over it gives him a feeling of euphoria I'm sure to know he's the WINNER who takes all!

EDIT: Bush is NOT above jack shit!

13. Waaait a freaking minute or two, Bush is doing what??? jumping into the
fray?

and who is running the small things Presidents do? Like the friggen war, the dept of Peace, the Commerce, Health, Homeland security, Education, etc etc.

It is very apparent the Nation comes last in Bushies mind. He first, Nation next. Whats more important is winning the election not the Welfare of the Nation. This guy has the brains of an amphipod.

That's like saying he'd rather work than be on vacation.

We all know how true that'd be.
