Pelosi: Democrats will retain majority in House
Source: AP

WASHINGTON – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats will retain a majority in the House after this year's midterm elections.

She acknowledges there have been swings in power over the last couple of elections, but tells CNN in an interview for broadcast Sunday on "State of the Union" that Democrats are prepared for elections and will be fighting for every seat.

The California Democrat says swings in party control of the House have happened when the party in power wasn't ready for elections. She says Democrats have been working hard in Congress but must communicate to voters what they've done.

Democrats hold an advantage of almost 80 seats over Republicans in the House. But 49 Democrats are in districts that Republican presidential candidate John McCain won in 2008.

2. I think she is wrong but what else is she supposed to say?
It's a stupid question to ask her.

Pelosi to Dems: back health bill even if it hurts -

"urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers"

5. We absolutely should not lose the House
But, if we do, it will be because folks are voting for real Republicans rather than fake ones. The MCs who will lose will be conservatives, but the media spin will be that this is a rejection of liberalism.

6. What we really need....
....is a 2nd party to go up against the Demopublicans or, should I say, Corporacrats. We need a 2nd party that will support the values and needs of working class Americans across this country.

I've decided no one will get my vote next election just because they have a D next to their name. YOU HEAR THAT SENATOR BILL NELSON?

8. Hey Pelosi? Why Bother?
My Democratic Party has proven to be incapable of getting thigs done and totally afraid of the punk republicans. So, I ask Pelosi - why bother?

9. If the Democrats use reconciliation...
...to put a robust Public Option back in the Bill, or better yet, immediately expand Medicare to 55, then YES, the Democratic Party stands a chance of keeping the Majority.

However, IF the Democrats use reconciliation to ram through a Republican Bill (Baucus Plan repackaged with Obama's face on the new label), there WILL be a blood bath in 2010.

* Would you favor or oppose the national government offering everyone the choice of a government administered health insurance plan — something like the Medicare coverage that people 65 and older get — that would compete with private health insurance plans?

Favor 82%

Oppose 14%

Not Sure 4%

11. Pelosi: Democrats will retain majority in House .....
"There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are in control of the transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will turn up the volume. If we want it softer, we will turn it down. We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can alter the internal linkfocus, to sharpen or distort the picture. For the next 246 Day's, we will control all that you see and hear. Believe me, there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to take an adventure. You are about to experience the awe which is associated with a journey to - The Outer Limits."

246 Day's and counting till we either wrestle the gun away from these corporate whores
before they pull the trigger and kill our party or Re-Thug oblivion.

Call 'em now, Fight for it now, Or forever hold your peace.

14. Yes. Despite it all, we cannot have the Republicans in the majority!
That would be catastrophic!
