Obama calls Cheney to wish him speedy recovery
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama called former Vice President Dick Cheney to wish him a speedy recovery as Cheney was recuperating from a mild heart attack, the White House said on Friday.

Cheney, 69, was hospitalized in Washington on Monday after suffering chest pains. Lab testing revealed evidence of a mild heart attack. It was Cheney's fifth heart attack in 32 years.

Obama called Cheney on Wednesday after he was discharged from the hospital, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

Vice President Joseph Biden called Cheney earlier in the week while he was recuperating in the hospital.

After the way he's treated him since he took office, the President still gives this sick man a call.

What do you think?

Its such a rare quality in politics that its hard for people to believe. As much as his politics frustrate me, Barack Obama is one amazing human being.

than Cheney marginalizes the sneering old warmonger.

33. I was talking to a friend tonight
and told him I would have loved to have DC croak on this most recent heart attack, so I was upset that I didn't get my wish this time. He said I would get my wish sometime at least, but I replied, no, it won't be the same.

He asked why, so I told him that having DC die was not the wish, but that he would have learned something about his actions and his moral character. I said that just having him die was not going to do anything, but if he had found some character, and learning what a complete asshole he was, THEN I would be happy. So I told him that my wish would probably never come true.
