Iranian president warns against tougher sanctions
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned the United States and other nations Tuesday not to impose tougher sanctions in reaction to the Islamic country's nuclear ambitions.

¬snip¬

Asked specifically about the threat of tougher sanctions, the Iranian president said, "We prefer that they move in the spirit of cooperation. It won't put us in trouble. They themselves will get into trouble."

Ahmadinejad also seemed to threaten unspecified retaliation, saying Iran won't act like it has in the past.

"Definitely, we will show a reaction that will put them to shame, like always," he said.

1. Iran is sitting pretty.
They know China will never leave them out in the cold now, so who cares what the US thinks?

5. Granted, Ahmadi and for that matter, the Iranian regime sucks
But when you state "the US this" and "the US that.." who exactly are you referring to?
I think the US position regarding Iran as with so many other domestic and foreign issues is fixed by lobbyists.
More than 35% of Americans are not interested in foreign policy at all.
Only about 50% vote in elections.
The elected are elected only because they get big MSM coverage with big contributions from you know who(s).
So, lets not through the weight of the Amercian people/US around as if good hard working Americans, if truly informed, would support these positions, policies and decisions.
Iran needs sanctions mainly for human rights violations but so do Arabia, Israel, Egypt.

3. If I were Ahmadinejad, I would be working 24/7
to build nuclear weapons. Look at what happens to countries that don't have a nuclear deterrant...We invade and occupy them, kill and torture their citizens, steal their resources, dump white phosphorus on them and leave their country contamminated with DU so their children are born with birth defects.

I say this, even though I'm generally opposed to nuclear weapons and nuclear power plants.
