U.S. Army Chief To Visit Israel For Talks On Iran, Defense Issues
Source: HAARETZ

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Military is set to arrive in Israel on Sunday for a meeting with the Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff to discuss the situation in Iran.

U.S. Admiral Mike Mullen will meet with IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi as well as Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak, and other senior IDF commanders to discuss other topics, including joint defense issues between Israel and the U.S. and mutual security concerns.

Admiral Mullen's meetings follow remarks made by the U.S. on Thursday when they called Iran's nuclear intentions "anything but peaceful."

Iran's nuclear ambitions continue to draw concerns from the United States and European allies who fear Iran is seeking the capability to build nuclear weapons. Iran has rebuffed diplomatic overtures to resolve the issue and is in defiance of UN Security Council demands that it suspend uranium enrichment.

"Should Iran continue down the wrongful course that it's on there will be consequences," State Department spokesman Philip J. Crowley said.

1. "Should Iran continue down the wrongful course that it's on there will be consequences"
You have to wonder when it will dawn on these feeble twits that continuing to make empty threats makes them "look weak".

7. Mr Crowley, the guy I quoted, is a State Department spokesperson.
And it is the State Department, ours, the USA, that I was speaking about.

2. US and Israel deciding on "what to do" about Iran
.
.
.

What about the REST of the World?

What is it with the USA and Israel's obsession about Iran anyways?

Even IF Iran got nukes, they would be no threat to the USA or Israel

UNLESS

the USA and/or Israel are planning a "shock and awe" feature for Iran.

and I think they are -

the troops, aircraft carriers, subs etc., in and around Iraq, Afghanistan, the Mediterranean and the Gulf are sorta surrounding Iran.

Then the "missile shield" by Russia's borders - - -

Lets get Iran, Russia, China, Venezuela, etc., to accumulate similar weaponry around coastal USA . . . .

fair is fair,

right?

:freak:

6. Iran is no threat to Israel?
Haven't you heard the many times Iran has threatened to destroy the state of Israel? Wouldn't nukes be the only effective way to do so?

8. Links (with the 'correct' translations), please.
Haven't you heard the many times the translations of declarations by Iran were 'deliberately' 'misleading' (by..... Big Oil, MIC & M$M war-hacks)?

9. We've all heard Iran make threats
Nukes are also an effective equalizer, the Cold War should have made that clear.

11. And I pray, do show the number of times Iran has done what you claim...

... beyond the misquoted speeches of their current president? And while you are at it, please, also count the number of actual threats (war games, black ops, actuals test flights, and don't leave out the weekly statements and threats by various Israeli officials including the Prime Minister) Israel has made toward Iran, I am just saying...

10. Hezbollah is the reason for Israel's obsession
Iran has a powerful proxy army on Israel's border - as far as Israel is concerned, they are already at war with Iran. Iran is busy arming Hezbolla, Hamas and Syria. Iran is not a peaceful nation minding their own business.

12. And Israel is a peaceful nation?

You call Hezbollah Iran's proxy army on Israel's border but forget to mention that Hezbollah whether you agree with them or not, are stationed in their own country fighting to defend their own country against attacks and invasions from Israel. You forget to mention that Iran in the same logic you have used should regard Israel as America's proxy army on it's border for the same reasons you give for Hezbollah.

For you the idea of other nations been able to organize and defend themselves against Israel is also a crime, I guess it is a powerful tool to use propaganda to deny the other side the ability to mount an effective defense against your planned attacks, well, NEWSFLASH, the other side does not have to buying into your propaganda, I am just saying...

training for soup kitchens and teddy bear giveaways. If you weren't a misunderstander of Farsi you would know this.

17. What you are saying means squat to me.
Any intelligent person knows that Iran ain't hearting Israel and indeed is bent on aiding her enemies and doing her harm. Ditto for its feeling for the BIG SATAN. Now really, do you think that calling one the BIG SATAN and the other the LITTLE SATAN has any other objective but hate? Or have you been spending too much time on lollyland?

18. There is the whiff of war in the air
Could Obama outdo Bush when it comes to warmongering? Even the war criminal Bush nixed bombing Iran because of the collateral damage it would cause to US interests in the region.
