Karzai urges Taliban talks before U.S. pullout
Source: Reuters

KABUL (Reuters) – Taliban fighters should drop their demand that U.S. and NATO forces withdraw from Afghanistan before peace talks can be held, President Hamid Karzai said on Sunday, saying talks would make it easier for troops to leave.

Karzai is hoping to launch a peace initiative this year, but Taliban fighters have long said they are willing to negotiate only if more than 110,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan leave the country first.

Karzai said the Taliban's insistence on a withdrawal of Western troops before any talks was "not a meaningful gesture."

"The international community is here for success in defeat of terrorism, success in the defeat of extremism," Karzai told a news conference. "Therefore, they have to be satisfied that they have achieved their objective before they can leave."

I have to ask why Karzai didn't consider making peace with the Taliban during the Bush years? We have been there nearly a decade, and only now Karzai thinks to try to make peace with the Taliban?

2. Maybe that is why is he trying now. But from what I hear, our government run by THE FAMILY,
doesn't want to end the war. They want armaggedon.

Rapture crap. More war. They got it all planned out
and 15Million wealthy people to engage the world to pull it
off.

Sick fucks, they are and 150 of them are in our house and
senate.

We need to weed these people out and put them away forever.

6. He was interviewing someone, not trying to convince anyone, just sharing important information.
You are not closed minded are you? If not, have a listen to
what the researcher has discovered and you will be a talking
head
as well, methinks. That is, unless you are a believer of such
things as well. Lots of people are writing about the Family
now as well, and they just lost non profit status at C Street.
Listen up. Learn what is happening. Don't be closed minded,
if you can help it.

7. We oughta care....
This is a bad sign for the people of Afghanistan. It could mean Karzai is trying to establish a coalition government with the Taliban. Not a great thing for Afghanistan's women..
