Joe Malone is "seriously considering" run for Congress in Mass.

(NECN) - Democratic Massachusetts Congressman Bill Delahunt could have some competition in the next election. Republican political analyst Todd Domke revealed the news on Broadside with Jim Braude.

Domke says that former State Treasurer Joe Malone is "seriously considering" running against Delahunt.

"We're going to see the beginning of real two-party competition in the state after Scott Brown's victory," said Domke.

Domke says he was authorized by Malone to make the announcement. Malone could not be reached for a response

And so it begins.

Until now, all ten Congressional Representatives from Massachusetts and both Senators have been Democrats. Malone has been State Treasurer and is an affable guy. He will run in a district in which now Senator Scott Brown did very well.

The person standing behind Coakley who looked the sickest to me when Coakley made her concession speech? Massachusetts Democratic Governor Deval Patrick, who is up for re-election.

Axelrod ran Patrick's historic 2006 campaign, and Patrick was Obama's campaign co-chair. Patrick got off to a bad start and has not been popular in his own right.

Seems as though they smell blood and will try to turn "the bluest state in Americ" into a red state. Oh, the humanity!

1. So? This is a democracy. They're allowed to do that.
And, speaking as a New Yorker, a party without opposition is a corrupt, worthless pile of shit no matter what its name is.

4. If he had some, they'd better be dusted off and looked at again
The Democrats really need to start acting a little bit like Republicans in this respect and fight dirty. Rake up some muck and do some fear-mongering. Hey, where Repukes are concerned, there's a bunch of fear to monger. But, I'm in a bash-Democrats mode tonight. Our leaders will find a way to make Malone look good even if he's the Octogenarian Rapist.
