Brennan: Cheney may be 'ignorant' of terror facts

President Barack Obama's top counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, said Sunday that former Vice President Dick Cheney's criticism of the Obama administration's approach to the Christmas Day terror attempt is misinformed or intentionally false.

"I'm disappointed. The vice president or others are either willfully mischaracterizing President Obama's actions or are ignorant of the facts," Brennan said on "Fox News Sunday." "I'm neither Republican nor Democrat. I've worked for five previous administrations..... says we're at war with Al Qaeda. We're going to destroy Al Qaeda."

28. Maybe 8/10 ...
... considering that he still called Cheney "the Vice President" rather
than "the former Vice President" ...

5. Brennan was great on MTP
Brennan was terrific on MTP this AM despite David Gregory's chronic as*holitude. Michael Hayden and Michael Chertoff also did a very good job, specifically because they were not in any way partisan and actually had an interesting discussion about counterterrorism. It was really a pleasure to listen to a discussion without the usual partisan attacks.

17. Brennan also has an interesting history.
Brennan Appointed Obama Counterterror Adviser

In other news, Obama has appointed former CIA official John Brennan as his top aide on counterterrorism. Brennan had been Obama’s top candidate to head the Central Intelligence Agency but was forced to withdraw from consideration amid protests. Brennan has publicly supported the CIA’s policies of so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques” and extraordinary rendition. Brennan’s new position doesn’t require congressional approval.

9. This feels like a turning point for the Cheney shit
If my memory serves me no one, and I mean no one who that high in any administration has ever come out to criticize any former VP much less to label them as ignorant or willfully lying.

I don't see how Dick Cheney can respond to this without looking really foolish.

11. Nixon stayed in a closet for years after quitting.
He wasn't out doing everything he could to undermine the next sitting President.

There is a difference.

But since Darth was there when his mentor fell from power forever haunted, he keeps thinking he can change history by changing tactics. It's only going to backfire.

25. Cheney has to claim one or the other or deny both...
This guy has sort of used a Lyndon Johnson tactic.
Even if maybe not exactly true/ or no way to prove it, "say it, and make the SON OF A BITCH deny it."

Why is it so hard to call the former vice dictaitor what he is- A LIAR? Is that so hard- "ignorant of the facts""? He is not! He is a goddaamn liar and I am tired of this sissy ass administration just trying to placate the bully with non-statements like "might be ignorant".

He is a fucking liar and a war criminal!

Why is it so hard for this adiministration to grow a pair and fight against repugs? They save their crap for dems.

16. Old Dick
is not ignorant. He is just repulsively ugly from the core out.
His ugliness shows more every time he opens his sneering mouth.
He is just getting to be an Older Dick these days, and sorry, Old Dick, you still aren't in charge anymore.
