Four killed in Pakistan explosion

At least four people have been killed in an explosion near a police station and a mosque in north-western Pakistan, police say.

One report said the explosion happened outside the office of a top official in Lower Dir district.

The Pakistani army had carried out an operation in the district earlier this year to flush out Taliban militants.

Tens of thousands of people in the area were displaced by the fighting.
