Within five years that investment could total 3,800 jobs and $750 million in investment, according to incentives approved this week by the Legislature.

3. Isn't this sort of an anti-labor move?
Edited on Wed Oct-28-09 05:35 PM by Imajika
I thought Boeing did this to avoid dealing with the Aircraft Machinist Union in Seattle.

So ya, it is good news for South Carolina, but at the expense of unionized workers on the West Coast.

8. yep, they avoid a union with the move, as usual.

a lot of people have decided unions are "evil" somehow or another.

let's see how they like an America with neutered unions.

anti-union? enjoy your low pay / shitty benefits. it's coming, if it hasn't already arrived where you live.

6. Boeing sees cheap labor....................
This is a cheap labor trick............ Washington State has served Boeing well but now they are turning against the workforce, union represented, that have made Boeing great.

9. I can't wait to see how Boeing fucks this one up,
given their long history of supply chain problems going back in the mid-90's, they have never ramped production of anything without falling flat on their face - and that is without the comedy of errors that is the disastrous 787 program.
