Florida county orders recount in primary
Election outcome unaffected as Kerry easily carries state

(CNN) -- Election officials in Bay County, Florida, plan to recount all of the almost 20,000 ballots cast in Tuesday's presidential primary because of vote-counting irregularities, election Supervisor Mark Andersen said Wednesday.

"I'm not the happiest camper," Andersen said hours before the recount was scheduled to get under way. "We're going to redo everything."

The recount in the Panhandle county will not affect the outcome of Florida's primary, which handily went to Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, who secured 77 percent of the state's vote.

According to Andersen, the county's optical scanner did not count the votes correctly because of a discrepancy between the way the absentee and standard ballots were printed.<snip>

Andersen did not release the initial results, but The Associated Press reported that Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri held a 2-to-1 lead over Kerry in the county, with more than 60 percent of precincts tallied.<snip>

1. Perhaps Lou Dobbs
should point this out to his guest of two days ago, Florida Sec. of State (clone of K. Harris) who insisted most emphatically that everything was wonderful in the state of florida - we are ready, our supervisors are ready, we are in top shape -

right --- here we go again - that is not the smell of the everglades, it's the rotten smell of another election about to be stolen

2. Orange County Results
As usual, we had a great election here in Orange County. Buddy Dyer was elected mayor or Orlando in his own right. Yeah!

3. Joy!

I am sure they are crying in their soup because it was not suppose to happen that way.

They wanted this election to go so smoothly and now,we see exactly what they had planned for November... I love every second of it!

Go get 'um Bev Harris, you told them and that Repub on Lou Dobbs needs to come back on and explain this one.

I also heard that there were big problems in San
Diego California.

Does anyone know anymore about that...

9. Yep
San Diego's new Diebold machines flamingoed up the election. Lack of training, wrong ballots, everything else we've come to expect from BBV. And of course, our registrar of voters keeps insisting there's nothing wrong with the system she chose with no input or commentary from the public or anyone else.

8. Palm Beach County problems
According to an article in the Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach County had a lot of problems yesterday. This is one of the most affluent counties in America...why do they keep having these problems. No training or poor training. Here in Orange County, we have to have four-five hours of training before any elections!
