PM (Howard) queried as US backs away
LABOR called for Prime Minister John Howard to explain details of intelligence material on Iraq's nuclear weapons yesterday after the US backed away from its pre-war claims.

The Washington Post newspaper said the White House had acknowledged for the first time that President George W. Bush was wrong to claim Iraq had sought to buy uranium in Africa.

Mr Bush included the claim in his January State of the Union speech, which outlined the US's justification for the war on Iraq.

...

Opposition Leader Simon Crean said yesterday Mr Howard needed to explain what he knew ahead of his major statement to Parliament on February 4. "The Prime Minister made the specific statement in relation to uranium and Iraq developing a nuclear capacity as part of his justification for going to war," Mr Crean said.

"We want to know whether the truth was told."

1. I truly think Blair is toast. The British will never trust him again. And
the BBC will always be on his back.

Oh well, that's what happens to liars, sneaks, and theives.

3. Offically?
Officially, no, of course he wasn't aware that there may have been some disagreement in the fine details of the intelligence on Iraq. And he never knew that babies weren't thrown overboard until long after the election, either. This is Honest John! He's still insisting the US "Needs more time" to find the weapons which "He's sure are there".
Howard has made this country the unquestioning arselicker of the US, and I despise him for it.
